Introduction

Women's Self Help Groups (SHGs) are the quiet engines of Bihar's rural economy. When women come together, pool savings, and support one another, entire communities transform. But most SHGs in Bihar struggle with lack of capital, business knowledge, and market access. Our program provides micro-loans, financial literacy training, and hands-on business mentorship to SHGs across Bihar — helping women move from subsistence to prosperity and from dependence to leadership.

Impact of the Cause

We have supported 280 Women's SHGs involving over 4,200 women across 12 districts of Bihar. Average group savings have grown by 3.2x within 18 months of joining our program. Women trained in our financial literacy modules report significantly higher confidence in managing household budgets and loan repayments. Forty-two SHGs have successfully graduated from micro-loans to formal bank credit, a milestone that marks true financial inclusion. Several groups have collectively invested in shared assets like sewing machines, flour mills, and agricultural equipment, generating stable community income.

How Your Donations Work

Every rupee you donate works harder through our SHG model. ₹2,500 funds one woman's complete financial literacy training program. ₹10,000 provides a micro-loan seed fund for one new SHG of 15 women. ₹40,000 supports one SHG for a full year including training, mentorship, market linkages, and loan facilitation. We work with experienced rural finance professionals and partner with NABARD to ensure our micro-lending practices are responsible, sustainable, and truly empowering. Loan repayment rates in our partner SHGs stand at 94%.

Transparency and Accountability

All micro-loan disbursements and repayments are recorded in digitized ledgers audited semi-annually. We publish an annual SHG Impact Report with group-level data on savings, loans, and income changes. Our work is conducted in partnership with Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (JEEViKA), the state government's flagship SHG program, which provides official monitoring and oversight. We are registered under the Bihar Cooperative Societies Act and fully comply with RBI microfinance regulations. Donors receive group-level impact updates every six months.

Thank You

When you support a Women's SHG in Bihar, you are not helping one woman — you are helping fifteen. And through those fifteen women, you are touching their children, their households, their neighbors, and their villages. The ripple effect of women's economic empowerment is one of the most powerful forces for change on earth. You have set that ripple in motion. For every woman who repaid her first loan with pride, for every girl who saw her mother lead a meeting, for every village that grew a little more equal — thank you. Your faith in these women is changing Bihar.
