Introduction

Bihar has one of the lowest female literacy rates in India, with millions of women unable to read a prescription, sign their name, or help their children with homework. This is not a lack of intelligence — it is a lack of opportunity. Our Literacy Mission runs free learning centers in rural Bihar, where women of all ages come together to learn reading, writing, and basic numeracy in a safe, judgment-free space. When a woman learns to read, her entire family benefits.

Impact of the Cause

In three years of operation, our literacy centers have helped 6,800+ women across 9 districts of Bihar become functionally literate. Women who completed our 6-month program reported higher confidence in managing household finances, accessing government schemes, and supporting their children's education. Over 400 women from our program have gone on to become community educators themselves, creating a self-sustaining cycle of learning. Several graduates have successfully applied for government welfare benefits they were previously unaware of.

How Your Donations Work

Your donation directly funds the operation of literacy centers in rural Bihar. ₹300 covers one woman's full 6-month learning material kit. ₹1,500 funds a community educator's monthly stipend. ₹8,000 keeps a full literacy center running for one month, serving up to 30 women. We prioritize villages with the lowest female literacy rates and work with local women leaders to ensure cultural comfort and consistent attendance. Every center maintains an attendance register and progress tracker reviewed monthly by our program team.

Transparency and Accountability

Our accounts are fully audited each financial year and made available to the public on our official website. We maintain individual beneficiary records including enrollment dates, attendance, and literacy assessments before and after the program. Donor reports are shared every six months with photographs and anonymized case studies. Our organization is registered under the Societies Registration Act and is a recognized nonprofit under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, making your donation fully tax-deductible.

Thank You

When you donate to this mission, you are giving a woman in rural Bihar something she has waited her whole life for — the ability to read her own name. These women are not statistics; they are mothers, daughters, and leaders in the making. Their laughter when they write their first sentence, their pride when they read a letter from their child's school — that joy belongs to you too. Thank you for seeing their worth and investing in their future. Bihar is brighter because of your kindness.
